Title: Continuous delivery through a reliable deployment pipeline

Host: Jonathan Klingberg, LTH/Carus

Time to market (TTM) i.e. the length of time it takes from a product being conceived until it’s being available for sale and deliver value has become more important than ever for software development companies operating in a competitive market. Just having a few releases per year only because newly developed features gets stuck on their way to production does definitely not deliver value to the customers.

Therefore in order to reduce TTM lag without risking any loss in quality it’s important to have a reliable deployment pipeline which preferably also can be automated. Then new features would be automatically gated through the pipeline all the way out to production environments which would allow for more frequent releases.

On this CMCM we’ll try to locate and discuss the prerequisites for and obstacles to such reliable deployment pipelines.
