Title: How much git does a developer have to know?
Host: Christian Pendleton, Softhouse Consulting Oresund AB
Introducing distributed version control with git is a quite big step in an organization that is working with more traditional version handling like ClearCase or Subversion.
What do you need to focus on when training the developers in the new tool? How deep do you have to go in terms of explaining changesets, blobs, sha-1 checksum etc? How high up in processes etc do you need to go?
I will share experiences from a course event and we can then discuss what should be in focus and what you can omit in a git education.
