Title: (Software) Configuration Management Debt

Software Configuration Management (SCM) is an important part of the infrastructure of all software development projects. However, it is also the subject where there is the largest knowledge gap between what is needed in industry and what is taught at university.
This means that the implementation and execution of SCM is often far from optimal. This is potentially a source of vast technical debt related to SCM. We therefore find it interesting and useful to investigate and explore how the concepts related to technical debt apply to SCM, to arrive at a better understanding of what Software Configuration Management Debt is.
