Tools for (Software) Configuration Management - Michele Innocenti

To implement the "abstract" concepts and principles for Configuration Management tools are very handy. Life would be easy if there was only one tool for (S)CM - or one tool for each part of (S)CM. However, there are literally thousands of tools and most tools only handle a part of (S)CM, so a "global" solution has to be put together from a number of tools that have to "collaborate".

In this Open Space we would like to explore what (S)CM tools people are using. What experience do they have from these tools? What are their advantages and drawbacks? What tools work well together - and what will not work? What tools are better for certain contexts (waterfall, agile, DevOps, embedded, web, cloud)? What "package" of tools is need to cover all aspects of (S)CM?
