Scandinavian SCM day

OpenSpaces: Open Spaces is a facilitation method that is particularly suited for situations where a groups of people work very intensely with a problem and where there is a lot of dialogue and discussions (as opposed to a "simple" presentation). Sometimes it is used to brainstorm "solutions" to complex problems, sometimes it is used as a more interactive and effective way of "teaching" (keeping an "open mind" to the input/feedback from the "students").

The Open Spaces will run in parallel just after the lunch break and are introduce just before the lunch break. They will take place in rooms close to the conference room.

Proposals:

Make information visible - bring life to your data (Artour Klevin)
During this Open Space I would like to discuss how CM could make the gathered data visible and alive.
What information channels should be used? How much push vs pull information should there be? How to supply relevant and updated data?

CM on Distributed Projects (Christian Pendleton)
I'd like to discuss how the distribution of development work affects the CM work and how we as CM experts can help overcoming the impediments that the distribution adds to development work.

CM in Heterogeneous Environments - what solutions do you use? (Otto Vinter)
In recent years CM solutions have increasingly been challenged with the task of handling heterogeneous environments; i.e. environments where the total CM repository resides on several platforms and controlled with different tools. This situation requires special efforts and skills for you as a CM person, because the total overview of the status of the product under development has to be taken from several places and combined into one status. Examples of such heterogeneous environments are: Mainframe and .net systems; Document management and code management systems; Vendor and in-house CM systems; Distributed CM systems etc.
This Open Space intends to explore which solutions you use in practice; what problems you have encountered; how effective the solutions are at controlling the comprehensive CM information; and how you can best visualise to management the current status of the product.
